Nigerian 419 scam: fraude da antecipação de pagamentos

Mensagem enviada por uma Igreja Católica Italiana (Chiesa Cattolica Italiana) comunica aos <undisclosed-recipients> que eles são ganhadores de US$ 650.000,00.

A Chiesa Cattolica Italiana, que não é a do papa Bento XVI, foi criada em 1872 e 29 anos depois, em 1901, já dispunha de recursos suficientes para ajudar a comunidade. É o que ela vem fazendo desde então e já arrecadou tanto dinheiro que está a distribuí-lo com pessoas desconhecidas.

Em conjunção com a ECOWAS - Economic Community of West African States (Comunidade Econômica dos Estados da África Ocidental), UNO - United Nations (Nações Unidas) e EU - União Européia a milionária igreja faz doações de mimos de seiscentos e cinqüenta mil dólares.

Doa essa dinheirama a desconhecidos. Que beleza!

Pelo menos, isso é o que diz a mensagem.

Eu mesmo fui escolhido :)

O objetivo desse generoso programa é promover significativas mudanças no padrão de vida de pessoas de todo o Universo: América, Europa, Ásia e África.

Daqui do Brasil, eu fui um dos escolhidos. Não há dúvida de que um milhão de reais na minha conta corrente fará diferença no meu padrão de vida.

Como bom aprendiz de garimpeiro, trocarei de carro imediatamente: caminhonete importada 0 km com ar e direção. Na carroceria, um potente som para avisar que cheguei :)

Casa nova na cidade.

TV em cores de tela plana. Quarenta e duas polegadas. (Uma grande diferença no padrão de vida pra quem não tem sequer uma TV preto e branco tela curva :-)

E o golpe?

Calma.

Como é que Chiesa Cattolica Italiana encontrou o meu e-mail?

Segundo a mensagem 1, o meu email address foi selecionado randomicamente a partir de mais de 100.000 internet websites ou de notas de supermercados onde faço compras.

Curioso: sempre faço compras no mercadinho de dona Zezé aqui em Campo Formoso - BA e nunca falei pra ela o meu e-mail :)

Portanto, a possibilidade de o meu e-mail haver sido capturado em nota de supermercado fica totalmente excluída: jamais escrevo o meu e-mail nos cupons que eu assino.

Resta a alternativa de o meu e-mail haver sido adquirido de um spammer-vigarista vendedor de listas para e-mail-marketing, ou seja para spam.

Isso mesmo. Tratando-se de tentativa de golpe de vigarista, nada como outro vigarista para ajudá-lo na empreitada.

Pois bem, usando o pseudônimo de Jake Gittes demonstrei interesse e imediatamente respondi a mensagem. Logo percebi que o personagem de Jack Nicholson em Chinatown anda desprestigiado: nenhuma resposta dos doadores.

Não desanimei, mudei de tática e usei outro pseudônimo em uma conta de e-mail que raramente uso e que não havia recebido a proposta de doação. Deu certo.

Recebi a mensagem 2 confirmando que eu havia sido escolhido para receber o dinheiro.

Sem perda de tempo, sei que eles são apressados, fiz o que recomendaram: enviei mensagem para Mr. Alfred Bamuda, Counsellor, ECOWAS Head Office Abuja

 

No dia seguinte, recebi a mensagem 3 solicitando informações sobre mim. Pedem até mesmo a religião que professo: católico, é claro. Não quero correr o risco de ser desclassificado devido a um simples detalhe religioso.

Também me perguntam como usarei os dólares. Ajudarei uma pessoa relativamente carente de recursos: eu mesmo. Tentarei a universidade, essas coisas.

Finalmente, recebi a esperada mensagem 4 confirmando que eu receberia os seiscentos e cinqüenta mil dólares prometidos. Parabéns, fui aprovado!

Desta vez, a mensagem foi enviada pela ECONOMIC COMMUNITY FOR WEST AFRICAN STATES e não mais pela CHIESA CATTOLICA ITALIANA.

Por mim, tudo bem.

A mensagem 4 me diz que o cheque está pronto para ser enviado, juntamente com vários documentos, mas somente será enviado mediante o pagamento da taxa de seguro no valor de U$ 620,00:

REGARDLESS OF ANY ABOVE OPTION, THE INSURANCE CHARGE OF YOUR PARCEL IS $620.

Além da taxa de seguro, deverei arcar com as despesas de envio conforme a opção: DHL, FEDEX ou UPS.

E mais: os custos do seguro e do envio não são dedutíveis da importância de U$ 650.000,00 e essas despesas devem ser pagas antecipadamente. Não gostei :)

O remetente diz que as informações contidas nas mensagens são confidenciais:

É uma pena. Receio não receber os dólares, pois abri a boca no mundo, quer dizer na Internet e não enviarei o dinheiro solicitado. Vou dizer isso a eles e esperar uma solução ;o)

De qualquer forma, arrisquei: prometi dar ao Mr. Alfred Bamuda 10% dos seiscentos e cinquenta mil dólares se ele me liberasse dessas taxas incômodas. O dinheiro seria para a igreja dele, é claro.

Até agora, ele não respondeu.

Clique nas imagens para vê-las ampliadas

Atenção para a forma como escrevem o nome das Nações Unidas no Certification of Donation: United Nations Organisation. Organisation, com _s_. Na verdade, o nome oficial da entidade é United Nations.

Bruno, um dos nossos colaboradores, avisa que essa grafia encontra-se correta (v. mensagem), pois é a forma usada na Grã Bretanha e nas suas ex-colônias.

Um dos documentos mencionados é o ANTI-TERRORISM CERTIFICATES (A.T.C). Ao pesquisar no Google esse documento somente retornam resultados referentes ao 419 scam, a fraude da antecipação de pagamentos.

Não sei se a Chiesa Cattolica Italiana existe de fato ou se faz parte da armação dos nigerianos. Pode ser mais uma das muitas igrejas cujo nome é indevidamente utilizado pelos golpistas.

Aí está mais um caso da fraude da antecipação de pagamentos, golpe através do qual os vigaristas nigerianos ficaram famosos em todo o mundo.

Quem se der ao trabalho de analisar detalhes vai perceber algumas incoerências na seqüência de mensagens. A mensagem inicial é enviada pela Chiesa Cattolica Italiana. Logo em seguida, a responsabilidade é passada para um COUNSELLOR da ECOWAS.

Na mensagem 3, a responsabilidade volta a ser da igreja italiana. A ECOWAS assume a responsabilidade em seguida, mas os "certificados" são emitidos pelos governos da Itália e da Nigéria.

Uma coisa a destacar é a presteza nas respostas dos nigerianos: em menos de 24 horas eles respondem e dizem o que fazer, não importa onde estejam: Roma, Abuja ou Nova Iorque. Um exemplo a seguir :-)
